One of the best cheeseburgers I've ever had. So simple and somehow so awesome. Huge slice of pizza and a perfect cheeseburger for just $11.50. This place is a gem.
This place was sooooo good! Immediately were welcomed, the man at the register helped us pick a beer and was talkative. The ambience is picnic style so definitely enjoy the sun with your beer. And the food was top tier. We got the Shit Kicker, fries and onion rings. I highly recommend.
I'm not usually a burger person but the one here was magnificent. The textures and flavors and the way it practically melted in your mouth. Also love onion so that was the cherry on top Forewarning it's a bit small and you'll have to find street parking but there's a bar once you're inside! They also do no modifications (you won't need them).
These lil smash burgers MELT in your mouth! The animal style sauce they put in them is ridiculously good. I've been to this location twice and both times the staff were playing good music and dancing while putting in work on these burgers. If you ever see a long line, it goes by quick and is worth the wait! Staff/music/food make the friendly one of the best burger spots in town
Please order the dirty top cheese burger. It's an amazing burger without the use of extra toppings. The patties are well seasoned with a nice crisp on the edges. The place is also known for pizza, but there's definitely more value in ordering multiple flat tops. Nothing too noteworthy about the service, but the employees are very friendly (no pun intended). Vibes are similar to that of a dive bar- loud music, nice company, and a good time. Some things to be aware of: - Parking is a bit tough, just avoid peak hours and there should be some availability with street parking. - Limited seating. - Shotgun a beer for $1 off!
Your friendly neighborhood dining spot. The space is not huge and they specialize really in only two things: burgers and pizza. I hear and heard a lot about their burgers from friends who live in the area as well as out of towners alike, but when I was in town on this particular trip, I was really just in the mood for some slices of pizza and some cheap beer. And boy did they deliver. When I walked in, I was able to sit at the counter pretty much right away. It was created by the friendliest people ever. Just really chill folks and chill vibe to this place. I ended up ordering two slices and a Modelo. The slices of pizza really hit the spot and the overall cost was a little over $10. What a deal! I'm not sure if it was their goal to be a New York style pizza shop, but the feel of it is definitely a pizza spot that you might find in New York. I am 100% coming back and getting a burger on my next trip. I was able to find street parking about a block away. This area seems like it could get tight in terms of parking.
Well holy smokes, how have I missed this place for the last 10 years?! Totally an old schools "dive" kind of place- IN THE BEST WAY POSSIBLE!!! It is a wide open kitchen- counter service- teeny tiny area to sit- so be forewarned you might now find own. We had pizza by the slice- not the burgers which they are so famous for- but it was so good!!! We took it down to fall brewing- you can check out that review too- and really enjoyed it so much we went back and got a second slice! If that's not a worthy reason to try this place... I don't know what is. I can't wait to try the burgers!!

Hands down the BEST pizza spot in the San Diego area. I've had the slices from The Friendly and I WISH I can go back in time to taste it for the first time. The dough is amazingly thin with the right amount of crisp on the crust. The toppings are always fresh! I especially love the jalapeño variants for their slices. The slices are relatively cheap ($3.50 per slice). The down side is that there's minimal seating inside and finding parking is a bit hard. But it's so so worth it to make a trip here for a couple of slices of their delicious pizza!
